Loon Lodge on Leech Lake is a completely remodeled private home on Pine Point with direct access to Traders Bay. North Woods throughout with locally made log furniture and décor.

The beach is the highlight — pure sand bottom, gradual slope, shallow depths perfect for kids. The deck faces east so you avoid the afternoon sun. The road is private and dead-end with about 12 cabins. An environmental lake across the street means no neighboring homes — maximum privacy.

Pet friendly — dogs welcome ($75/pet, max 2). Crafting room in the lower level ($97 flat fee). Walker, MN is minutes away.

Loon Lodge on Leech Lake is a completely remodeled private home located on Pine Point with direct access to Traders Bay. The home features a true North Woods feel with locally made log furniture and decor.

Three bedrooms with two baths are on the main floor and separated by the living areas. Laundry facilities, a crafting room and a third bath are located in the lower level.

Owner story

Loon Lodge is owned by Rick Storlie. Rick purchased the home in 2005 because of its potential. From 2006 to 2009, the home was remodeled inside and out with log siding, new light fixtures, air conditioning, log railings, wood floors, tile floors, paint, carpet, door/cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures.

Activities

Primary visitors are families and fishermen. From walleye fishing opener through October, the cabin is busy with fishing and family trips. From November through April, guests come for ice fishing, girls getaways and quiet crafting retreats near Walker.

Bedroom and bath opening policy

Rick keeps rates lower for smaller groups by opening and closing bedrooms and baths. Guests always have access to all living areas.

Groups of 3 or less: owner’s suite and sofa sleeper
Groups of 4–5: master suite, sofa sleeper, twin bedroom and main bath
The queen bedroom can be substituted for the twin bedroom by request
Groups of 6–8: all 3 bedrooms/baths and the sofa sleeper are open
Extra bed/bath combinations can be opened for a one-time $75 + tax cleaning fee

Booking & cancellations

50% of the rental fee is due at booking. The balance, including taxes, fees and damage deposit, is due 30 days before arrival. Cancellations more than 30 days before arrival receive 100% of deposited funds. For cancellations less than 30 days before arrival, Rick attempts to re-book the dates; if re-booked, guests receive 90% of deposited funds or 90% of the amount re-booked, whichever is lower, less a $50 processing fee.
